My Story

As a professional Horse Trainer and Riding Instructor, Nathaniel White Feather is well-known and respected throughout the greater Richmond region and state of Virginia. After training with some of the most majestic horses in the world, he has developed unique and effective teaching methods. The focus is on building confidence in horses and the riders while preparing both for a peaceful time together.

Horse Rescue

Seeing the value in every horse

When horses have been neglected, forgotten about and waiting at the kill pins, it's White Feather to the rescue! After careful consideration, certain horses come back to the ranch where they are reminded of how worthy they are. The White Feather Horse Behavior Training involves an intimate understanding of the animal’s natural. Once a horse is habilitated and healthy they have the chance to work on the trails and provide equine therapy to guests at White Feather Trail Rides. The White Feather Horse Behavior Training involves an intimate understanding of the animal’s natural and individual history.

Trail Rides

Restore your spirit with every step

White Feather Trail Rides is located among the rolling hills of Powhatan, VA where the horse and deer frolic together. Offering all-inclusive horseback riding packages and day trail rides by appointment. Each person is paired with a horse that fits their experience level. Beginners will receive a lesson to prepare them and grow confidence.

Youth Literacy Program

Future leaders in training

The cowboys and cowgirls on the White Feather ranch understand the value of a good book to stimulate the imagination. Youths ages 7-17 are invited to read 10 age appropriate books and draw a picture or write a report to share their experience with the folks at the ranch. In exchange, participants will receive a complimentary horseback ride.
